HAMPTON, GA. (October 25, 2003) –It was more like survival of the fittest at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Friday night as Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR Touring drivers made their finale appearance under the NASCAR banner for the Brawny 150 presented by Pork The Other White Meat. Winnsboro, SC native Justin Hobgood started his (No. 65 Reiner Construction Pontiac) in third position as he ducked and dodged his way through the field to hold off a hard charging Joey Miller (No. 19 Joe Cox Glass/Discount House Carpet Pontiac) on the finale lap to capture his first win of the 2003 season. Cordova, AL resident Danny Bagwell rounded out the top three finishers as he brought (No. 10 Sterling Casino Lines/Torbert Trucking/Five Brothers Produce, Ford) from fifth to a third place finish in last nights race.

Goody’s Dash Series NASCAR Touring points leader Robert Huffman brought his (No. 37 White House Apple Juice Toyota) to a fifth place finish as he captured the Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship. Huffman made history at Atlanta Motor Speedway as he not only tied Dean Combs for five Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championships but brought Toyota’s its very first NASCAR Championship as this is the first NASCAR Championship ever won by a foreign manufacture.

Taylorsville, NC resident Eric Wilson (No. 4 Old Milwaukee/John Boy & Billy, Pontiac) was the highest finishing rookie of the race with a seventh place finish but cam up short to Mooresville, NC resident T.J. Majors (No. 26 Moss Motorsports Pontiac) in one of the most exciting points races of season for the 2003 Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR Touring rookie of the year honors. Majors edged out Wilson by finishing 13th as he was the third highest finishing rookie giving him one-point more than Wilson to capture the 2003 Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR Touring rookie honors.

South Plainfield, NJ resident Ricky Gonzalez (No. 95 Motivation Motor sports Marketing/JoAnne's Kitchen Cabinets/Pourmans Pub, Pontiac) was the second highest finishing rookie with a 12th place finish as Gonzalez finished seventh among Goody’s Dash Series rookies. Concord, NC resident Jay Godley’s (No. 18 MRD Motorsports, Pontiac) was the fourth highest finishing rookie of the race with a 18th place finish as engine problems ended his rookie of year hopes as he ended up third in the Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR Touring rookie points standings. Rounding out the top five rookies was Birmingham, AL resident Ray Paprota (No. 0 Five Bros. Produce/Torbert Trucking, Ford) who finished the finale race of the 2003 season with a 19th place finish as he was eighth in Goody’s Dash Series rookie points standing.
