He worked his way up and gained valuable experience in the AMSRA Microstock, Legends Car and American Race Truck Divisions. Ricky's dedication and love of the sport brought him success, notoriety and visibility during these years, especially with his capture of the "Rookie of the Year" title in 1999 and consistent high ranking throughout his career. These accomplishments propelled him into NASCAR racing in 2002.
