Ricky to race at Martinsville

3/17/04

Diversity in NASCAR racing just got a BIG boost:! CatchFence.com has just learned that Ricky Gonzalez, the vivacious New Jersey Hispanic driver we profiled in December 2003, has just inked a deal to run The Kroger 250 Craftsman Truck event on April 17 at Martinsville. Since we spoke in December, Gonzalez and his marketing agent, Maureen Rafferty, have been hard at work traveling across country to California to lock down sponsorship. And while the official announcement and the details about the sponsorship will be forth coming soon, Gonzalez did reveal the CTS race in April will be with Ware Racing. Stay tuned to CatchFence.com for more details about Ricky's 2004 racing plans as they become available!

Hi Everyone, I've been getting so many emails asking me about me not being at Daytona I thought I would write you all a note. Well as most of you know we are planning to race a Craftsman truck at Martinsville. I was in meetings all week in Los Angeles with some potential sponsors for the truck series. I plan on racing at Hickory with the DASH car and run a limited schedule with IPOWER as well as attend some Truck races this season. Everyone keep your fingers crossed and we will see you all soon at the track. Thanks Ricky
